leeluvfashion Quick Q: Which Two Teams... May 14, 2010 10:56 PM   W ould you like to see go on to the Stanley Cup final round and battle for the most desired trophy in the league?   Currently the their are four teams left, two series: San Jose Sharks vs Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference; Montreal Canadians vs Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern .   N ow if the team you rally behind is one of the above: Congratulations! If not, I am sorry for the loss as I understand the feeling (the Pens were just booted out by Montreal (sniffle.) However since hockey if a blast to watch there must be a match-up from the above teams that you might find fun to watch body-check and clobber one another on the quest to become THE team of 2009-2010.   So, do vote and tell.
leeluvfashion Quick Q: How Is Your Team Doing In The Series? Apr 24, 2010 4:46 PM   A s the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs come near (or to, depending on the team) an end, I was curious as to how the teams you are rooting for are doing.   - Has the team's run ended? Heading going into Game 5 or 6? Advanced onward? How is their series doing, as in 4-1, etc... What moments have caught your attention and which player(s) do you feel shined the brightest? Also, if you haven't stopped by the group previously, I ask, how long have you been an NHL fan?   ~ In my case, Pittsburgh is currently 3-2 against Ottawa, Game 6 taking place this evening (as I write this post the game airs on Versus; with a score of 0-1 (still time for a turn around. Unless, of course, you are cheering for Ottawa, in which you are cursing me for wishing against them.) Game 6 on Thursday was nerve damaging due to the 3rd OT. While seeing Pittsburgh lose after the exhausting time they put into the game was a downer, I admire both teams for their determination. Well worth the watch. Moments I enjoyed seeing were: Sidney Crosby scoring his 2nd goal in Game 5 in the midst of falling; Crosby (again) blocking the puck from entering Pittsburgh's net in the nick of time (Game 2); the mass rumble in Game 2 or 3 (damn forgetfulness) and finally, the Is-It? or Is-It-Not? goal by Chris Kunitz. Of course a wave of giddiness came upon me when Regin of Ottawa had a No-Goal after kicking the puck pass Fleury; such a wave of relief at that moment. The players who I feel have played the best/shined the most, are: Crosby (Pitt), Staal (Pitt), Orpik (Pitt); Alfredsson (Sen), Regin (Sen), Spezza (Sen). Of course kudos to the goalies. Talk about a high pressure position to play.   Hmm. What will Game 5 bring to the memory table?

leeluvfashion Plan on Watching the 2010 NHL Winter Classic? Dec 17, 2009 2:23 AM
leeluvfashion Bye Bye French Canadian Guy Sep 26, 2009 8:41 AM I recently rediscovered this gem of a hockey song and felt it deserved a post. Originally broadcast when Mario first retired on 102.5 WDVE. With the current preseason/upcoming regular season, I cannot help but think how while the Pens were gone for awhile, now they could not be anymore alive and thriving. I cannot wait to see what comes of the 09-10 season.   Lyrics :   Long, long time ago I can still remember For a dollar you could sit real high I knew if we got our chance We could make Lord Stanley dance If maybe we could draft a big French guy 16 years we sat and shivered One draft pick it was delivered Good news on the doorstep, the Stanley Cup just one step I can't remember if I cried when I read about the big French guy Something touched me deep inside The day Lemieux retired   {*CHORUS*}   Bye Bye French-Canadian guy Drive your beamer to the Igloo past the parking lot guy And vendor boys will sell you their I.C. Light But this will be the day the Pens die This will be the day the Pens die   Do you hate a scoreless tie? And do you have faith in Stan and Guy when they're on the radio And do you believe in the breakout pass Do his hat tricks knock you on your ass And can you teach me how to skate real fast Well we know his back is pretty sore And he's not a young guy anymore When he kicks off the skates he leaves us second rate We were knockin on the basement floor When we drafted him in '84 How in the world can we endure The day Lemieux retired   {*CHORUS*}   Met Grant Fuhr of the St. Louis Blues I asked him for some happy news He said Mario has gone away I know if I had my chance and I sounded like I came from France Maybe they just might let me play But coach saw me and he said: No, Never My boss said: Your pay I'll sever I sit and watch the playoffs Knowing Flyers are all jag-offs 3 men I admire most: Stan and Guy and Myron Cope Skipped right by with my remote The day Lemieux retired   {*CHORUS*}
