This afternoon, I joined hockey bloggers across the United States and Canada in a chat with Versus color commentator and NHL Hockey Analyst Brian Engblom. The bloggers all illustrated their love of the game by positing interesting questions. An added surprise was the number of female hockey bloggers!!!!!!
When the two-part podcast of our hourlong conversation is available, I will be sure to post it. It was an interesting conversation--much like the ones I have with you throughout the season--of knowledgeable hockey chat. As a result, the conversation made my excitement for attending tonight's Colorado Avalanche game against the Calgary Flames that much greater.
Engblom was a former defenseman and some of the current defensive players in the league that he loves to watch include Shea Weber (Nashville Predators), Dion Phaneuf (Calgary's big, tough D-man), Brent Burns (Minnesota Wild) and the dominating play of the Edmonton Oiler's Tom Gilbert.
Flames vs Avalanche @ the Pepsi Center tonight!
Among this year's "Rookie" crop that have impressed Engblom thus far are the Los Angeles Kings' defenseman Drew Doughty (who incidentally scored his first NHL goal against Peter Budai of the Colorado Avalanche), Chicago Blackhawk's left-winger, Kris Versteeg, Centerman for the Toronto Maple Leafs and league rookie goals leader, Mikhail Grabovski, and Derick Brassard the Columbus Blue Jacket's center who is the top rookie points leader.
Our interview included much more hockey conversation, so be sure to listen when the podcasts are posted. Additionally, I'd like to thank the folks @ VERSUS television, especially Brian Engblom for his time and Ling @ Sinuate Media, LLC - The Organic Marketing Company SM for making this possible and for promoting bloggers and NHL hockey!

I cannot wait to hear the podcast! Sounds like a wonderful chat.
1Very cool! Brent Burns is going to be an All-Star someday.
