This afternoon, I joined hockey bloggers across the United States and Canada in a chat with Versus color commentator and NHL Hockey Analyst Brian Engblom. The bloggers all illustrated their love of the game by positing interesting questions. An added surprise was the number of female hockey bloggers!!!!!!

Okay Sugar Hockey Lovers, I have been selected, along with other bloggers to chat tomorrow afternoon with NHL analyst Brian Englom. Once the interview has been taped, I will post the audio link onto our site.
Meanwhile, I've been thinking about some of the questions I would like to ask him--if I get the chance--but I would also love the opportunity to represent you and ask questions that you might have.

Hey hockey fans!!! Can you believe it's hockey season already??? Preseason hockey's less than a week away, and the regular season starts in just a couple weeks.

First of all, I cannot believe that Jeopardy thought this question hard enough to be the $2,000 clue.
Then again, none of these three bozos could even venture a guess. :jawdrop:

Excerpts from the Detroit Free Press:
How they celebrated: A hand-to-hand look at where the cup traveled
by Shawn Windsor
"PITTSBURGH — It is a testament to the trophy itself that Wednesday night in Pittsburgh, some 10 minutes after the Red Wings had beaten the Penguins to win the Stanley Cup, most of the sold-out crowd at Mellon Ice Arena remained in its seats.
Penguins fans watched the teams shake hands. They watched Henrik Zetterberg accept the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Congratulations to the Detroit Red Wings for winning the Stanley Cup last night in Game 6 in Pittsburgh.
After an incredibly thrilling Game 5 was stolen in triple overtime by the Penguins, the Red Wings came out strong and got the first two goals. The Penguins tried their best to come back, making it 2-1 before Detroit took a 3-1 lead in the third.

What a game! The Penguins beat the Red Wings 3-2 with help from two goals by Sidney Crosby, and the game-wining goal from fourth-liner Adam Hall. The Wings now lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings ad Pittsburgh Penguins will face off in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Red Wings have home ice advantage for the series. You all know where my loyalties lie, but truthfully, I have no idea what to expect in the finals.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia -- Zach Parise's power-play goal with 8:57 remaining snapped a tie and gave the United States a 6-4 victory over Germany in a qualifying-round game at the world hockey championship on Thursday night.
The Americans appeared to have the game in hand when they scored three times in the opening 2:52, but Germany chipped away at the lead.
Germany got even at 4 early in the third, but Parise of the New Jersey Devils put a shot over goalie Dimitrij Patzold for his second of the game.
